Biological Sciences
The mission of the biological sciences theme is to develop new therapeutics and delivery methods and to translate these new therapeutics into clinical studies.
Implementation Science
The mission of the implementation science theme is to make UA a world leader in implementing evidence-based research in rural communities.
Neuroscience
The mission of the neuroscience theme is to uncover the mechanisms that underlie neurodevelopment, typical and atypical functioning, and disorders.
Rural Health & Health Disparities
The mission of the rural health and health disparities theme is to conduct research that uncovers the mechanisms responsible for disparate health outcomes and to develop and implement interventions to improve the health of all Alabamians.
PROGRAMS & PROJECTS
Healthy Haven
The Healthy Haven project aims to increase awareness about lead and the consequences of lead exposure, build the capacity of Fort Deposit to address lead issues in their community, and remediate lead in homes in the target area.
Pilot Project Program
The ALRI Pilot Project Program (PPP) aims to increase the rate of strong, fundable external grant submissions from UA Faculty who are affiliated with the ALRI.
Preventing and Managing Chronic Kidney Disease Study
The goal of the Preventing and Managing Chronic Kidney Disease study was to develop and implement a health literacy intervention related to kidney disease.
West Alabama Cardiovascular Health Program
The West Alabama Cardiovascular Health Program will offer services that assist communities with controlling blood pressure and cholesterol by helping people take medication regularly and guiding their diet and exercise.
